Nigeria Among Top 10 as Covid-19 Cases Increase in Africa

The World Health Organization (WHO) regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has stated that the number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has risen to over 240,000 within the last  24 hours.

WHO also stated that more than 109,000 people have recovered from the virus across 54 nations in Africa.

The UN health enterprise gave the update via its official Twitter handle on Monday morning.

According to the tweet, COVID-19 has killed more than 6,400 people as of today.

“Over 240,000 cases showed an increase in COVID-19 in the African continent – with greater than 109,900 recoveries and 6, 400 deaths,” WHO tweeted.

The WHO African dashboard confirmed that Ghana is now in advance of Algeria with 11, 422 reported cases, fourth maximum in Africa, whilst the North African Nation has recorded 10,919 cases.

South Africa remains the country in the continent with the highest reported cases with 70,038.
